My name is Josh Benitez (I go by JT). I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Throughout my years of living in this area, I realized the growing issues many men faced when trying to find a professional and talented barber. They either went to their wives’ salon for a more professional environment, were forced to go to low-grade barbershops and feel uncomfortable or had to visit franchise-based chop shops that only focus on volume of customers and not customer experience. In all, for men in this area, you had 3 choices: 1. be in a professional environment, not meant for men, 2. be in an unprofessional environment meant for men, or 3. drive 30+ miles minimum to try and find some sort of combination that fit their needs. This is when I decided to leave the salon I was in, in downtown Austin, to open a barbershop loft that would address these issues. As my business grows, I am glad to be able to fill the massive gap that this rapidly growing city desperately needs. My dedication and hard work, as well as the massive support of the community, have led me to where I am today. I hope to keep growing my business while addressing the needs of the men in the area.
